LIVE TRUE

Living Moment by Moment

I often spend too much time thinking about the "what-ifs" ahead in the future. Or dwelling on things that happened in the past.

This leads to missing out on experiencing the present moment.

So, we've all heard of mindfulness. And it's something to strive for, especially amidst the stress we're all under.
Observing all your internal mess without judgement and letting it wash over you in a blend of meditative mindfulness is the goal. Always returning to the present moment, and letting the rest fall away.

Mindfulness meditation doesn't have to be done while sitting or in silence. I look for ways I can naturally integrate the practice into my daily routines.
in the Bathtub, Listening to Music, Cooking a Meal, on a Break at Work, etc.

My motivation for sharing some brief thoughts on this practice is that it does help me with my anxiety. I have seen improvements in my blood pressure. better pain management, and reduced frequency of migraines. I do see some tangible health benefits in my life from my attempts at meditation, clumsy as they may be. So, I've shared this page in hopes that it might help someone else reading it someday.

It's not easy to stay grounded in the present moment, but developing the ability to separate yourself from your own disruptive thought patterns is crucial to self improvement, in my opinion.
Disclaimer: I ain't a doctor and I speak for no one but myself. ;)

Mindfulness also helps over time to develop healthier habits, passively. You start to listen to your body more, and notice where you're holding tension. Or you might take more notice of how food and drink affect you. Or how much sleep is optimal for you. Maybe you notice how certain situations affect your breathing.
